It looks like Hughton is looking to continue with a  tend in football, when a manager is in trouble they very often get players in they know well and have worked with in the past.  Recently Paul Lambert did exactly this with Grant Holt,  Hughton also with Jonas Gutierrez,  now he is looking at another ex Newcastle player who he managed previously.

Midfielder Danny Guthrie, currently playing for championship side Reading.  It is believed that the 26 year old would command a fee in between £1 and £2 million. Guthrie has made 24 appearances  for Nigel Adkins’ side finding the net four times.
