Another player  we are thought to be interested in is Blackpool defender Alex Baptiste,  a contact we have who runs a Blackpool site, says we have made tenative inquiries about the versatile defender.  Rumours suggest the player was disappointed to have missed out on a return to the Premiership by losing in the play off final. 

Several clubs including Wigan are thought to monitoring his situation, with the player entering the final year of his contract.

He can play comfortably at either right-back or centre-back, this versatility would be a valuable addition to the squad, I do seem to remember City being linked with him buring 2008,  when he was at Mansfield but Blackpool won the race to sign him.

One other player we were once linked with Watford's Adrian Mariappa, has just signed for Reading in what is thought to be a deal worth £2 million.
