It is looking like City are getting closer to getting their man to fill the hot seat, deputy chairman Michael Foulger hinted very strongly on Tuesday that the search may well be close to being over. 

While speaking to crowds at Great Yarmouth races Foulger told the crowd that an announcement on the management situation was expected “within 48 hours”.

We take it from that statement that the announcement will be to name the man given the responsibility of taking City onwards. 

Virtually all Bookmakers have Chris Hughton as favourite, while other sources close to Birmingham City expect him to be leaving the second City and heading east.

Whether the bookies have got it right we will have to wait a little longer, I would guess that the man in question is employed by another club, if he was a free agent I am sure 48 hours wouldn't be need to seal the deal.
