According to The Daily Express, Aston Villa are said to be getting ready to approach City for Paul Lambert. Whether just paper talk or it holds elements of truth, it is something many City fans fear, it stands to reason that this is bound to happen sometime sooner rather than later; and this isn't the last one we will hear of. It is well known Lambert's record and his very impressive his campaign in the premier, it stands to reason he will be an attractive proposition for many clubs.
We will just have to wait and see the outcome, it would be foolish to try and second guess Lambert has ambitions, and whether he still can fulfill those with City only he will know. We have to resign ourselves to the conclusion that he will move on one day, I just hope that one day isn't just yet.
Part of the Express Article:
ASTON VILLA are ready to consider approaching the man who could relegate them on the final day of the season to succeed under-fire boss Alex McLeish.
Having released a statement asking for the supporters’ backing for the last three games, Villa will hold an internal review of McLeish’s performance whether or not the club are relegated from the Premier League.
If they decide to sack McLeish in the summer, then Norwich manager Paul Lambert is the man to whom Villa will turn in an effort to get the best out of their underachieving squad.
Ironically, Villa’s hopes of landing Lambert may well rest on their final-day trip to Carrow Road, which could decide the club’s fate. Following their 2-1 home defeat by Bolton on Tuesday, Villa are just three points above the relegation zone heading into tomorrow’s Midlands derby at West Brom.
