Blackburn completed the signing of supposed City target Leon Best from Newcastle for over £3 mill and a 4 year contract.  A statement on the Rovers Official site read:

"Blackburn Rovers have this evening completed the signing of Leon Best from Newcastle United."

If City and Southampton did have  offers on the table for the player, it shows great ambition to sign for championship level when two premiership offers were there.
