Birmingham City are interested in Ryan Bennett, who will soon be a free agent when his contract at Norwich City expires, according to reports.
Bennett has been told, along with the likes of John Ruddy, Sebastien Bassong, Youssouf Mulumbu and Kyle Lafferty that their deals at Carrow Road will not be getting renewed this summer after the Canaries failed to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
Paul Robinson’s future is yet to be decided, and with that situation currently unclear, Blues only really have Ryan Shotton and Michael Morrison as viable centre-backs.
As with most free transfers, interest in Bennett will be high - now a top flight side, Brighton are thought to be interested.
No doubt though, Redknapp can be a huge influence for City, and if Bennett can be assured of first-team football, Blues have just as much chance as anyone else.
