Bolton Vs Norwich - Norwich Team News

Daniel Farke says Nelson Oliveira will miss a second successive match as he recovers from a series of injuries.

Oliveira pulled up with a calf injury shortly after coming on against Derby County last Saturday, and it seems his injury is connected to a previous groin strain as well as tooth pain.

“Nelson Oliveira is not available,” Farke told the press on Friday afternoon. “I hope we can use the international break to get him back on course.

“He’s in Portugal having some meetings with dentists and doctors to try and sort it out. Hopefully we can get it sorted and have him back at 100% after the international break.”

There was better news for Yanic Wildschut, who has trained and travels to Bolton Wanderers after missing the midweek match against Wolves for personal reasons.

Farke also revealed there were no fresh injury concerns following the defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers. “There were some hits during the Wolves game but nothing too bad. Christoph Zimmermann is much better – he was sick on the morning of the Wolves game and we decided to rest him, but he’s fine now.”

James Maddison, who has been called up for the first time by England U21, will also travel to Bolton but Farke admits they have to handle his heavy workload. “To be honest I’ve thought that James Maddison needs a break,” Farke said. “It’s his first season in the Championship and he’s played a lot of minutes. He’s so important, but you can see he’s a little tired. But he has a brilliant attitude, and he can create special moments even if he’s tired.

“We have to find the right balance with his load, but I don’t think it’ll be a problem to have him on the pitch tomorrow.”

Steven Naismith has been involved in training, but won’t be risked against Bolton, while Farke also gave an update on Alex Tettey’s recovery. “Steven Naismith has looked better during training,” said Farke. “But he won’t travel as we want to give him the international break to get back to 100% before we bring him back in.

“Alex Tettey is developing in the right direction. Hopefully he can be back in team training a couple of weeks after the international break.”
