Cardiff Game an Expensive One In More Ways than One

If there aren't enough storm clouds hanging over the club right now the news that Alex Tettey  will be out of action until sometime in the new year along with a £20,000 fine imposed by the FA for the stoppage-time scuffle against Cardiff, just makes the clouds that little bit darker.

The game against Cardiff has been an expensive one, I hve no doubt the most costly of the incidents will be missing Tettey, who had started to regain his form. After damaging his ankle it was decided that surgery was needed and he went under the knife last week.

Under fire manager Chris Hughton had the following to say:

"He has now had an operation on the area just above his ankle which will keep him out for perhaps a couple of months. Alex took a whack to an area just above his ankle and it is still very sore."

Tettey now joins Elliot Bennett as long term injury casualties, Bennett who damaged his knee in the opening game of the season isn't expected to be back in contention until the New Year also.

As to the fine for Fer's disallowed goal  ..In an FA statement the governing baody said : "Norwich City have been fined the standard penalty of £20,000 after admitting a breach of FA Rule E20(a) in relation to their game against Cardiff City on 26 October 2013.

Cardiff were also charged with the same breach, but it is understood that the Welsh club refuse to accept the fine and a personal hearing will be set.
