City's Aspirations look to be dropping.

It is starting to look like Hughton is lowering his sight a little,  instead of trying to sign a young European starlet, or Scotland's leading scorer, he is going for a championship player.  Well that's what the Mirror reckons, a deal for Luciano Becchio also involving Steve Morison.

Here's what they say:

Norwich are ready to buy Leeds striker Luciano Becchio after failing to land Celtic’s Gary Hooper.

They turned to the unsettled Argentinian on Tuesday and will sign him in a £3.5million deal - with Steve Morison going the other way.

Norwich are also battling Premier League rivals Reading for Birmingham defender Curtis Davies.

Royals boss Brian McDermott is hoping to exploit Blues' financial woes with a knock-down £1m deal, while Norwich chief Chris Hughton - who managed Davies at St Andrew's - is poised to return with a cash bid after failing with a loan move.

Nothing wrong with going for Beechio,  he has proved he knows how to score, whether he can take that to the next level remains to be seen, but nobody will ever know unless he gives it a go when given the chance.

What is worrying me is letting another striker leave, I thought the idea was to be adding to the squad with quaility and numbers.  That would be Vaughan and Morison , you could count Chris Martin in that as well, I am sure he has something about strikers,  perhaps he is looking to playing with none one day.

But when you stop and think about things it isn;'t too far off the mark for Hughton,  a case of as you were, just like his subsitutions.

Come on man give this club a fighting chance
