What a couple of wonderful days for Norwich City, yesterday the first team made sure of premiership football stayed at carrow Road. Tonight our under 18 continued the good work from the first leg of the F A Youth Cup by demolishing Chelsea on their on patch 4-2 on agg. Holding a slender goal advantage City coach Neil Adams knew they were going to be up against it, he devised a game plan, and his young players carried that plan out perfectly.
Goals from McGeehan again from the spot, a very well worked counter lead to Josh Murphy tapping in after being teed up by his twin brother, Jacob. Sandwiched in between was what has been given as an own goal, Josh Murphy’s wiggled around two defenders to fire in a hard and low cross which the home keeper deflected into his own net.
Chelsea scored a late consolation when Boga scored his second goal of the game.
A brilliant display and totally deserved victory and if I heard the two very biased commentators correctly, City are the first team to defeat Chelsea on their own pitch for 10 years at this level. the general feeling I got fom listening to them, was almost as if we weren't allowed to be on the same pitch, let alone win.
Can only be great for the players and the club
