One player City won't be signing despite being linked strongly is Chris Gunter,  he is on the verge of a reported £2.5million move to new boys Reading.   Gunter had been linked to City under the Lambert regime who is believed to have had a bid turned down by Forest, at the time the player said he was committed to staying at Forest; that lasted a long while.  His name has cropped up a couple of times since Hughton has taken control.

Reading were favourites to sign Newcastle's Danny Simpson, but the 25-year-old is now expected to join Aston Villa, Reading then switched their attention to Gunter.

Another name that has been linked to City has just signed for Wigan, Aberdeen's highly thought of  youngster Fraser Fyvie put pen to paper on a three year deal for an undisclosed fee. 

If a bid is to be made for Curtis Davies and it gets accepted, Davies will not have that far to travel for talks,  Birmingham's squad flew out last night to their training camp,  in Austria too.
