Every transfer window there seems to be the one rumour for a player that doesn't want to go away, in many cases it never materialises. This window it is looking like it will be Gary Hooper  the Celtic hitman. 

The Mirror heated this up a little last week by claiming City are offering £30k a week to sign, which for various reasons I simply cannot swallow.

Several other media sites have jumped a little on the Mirror bandwagon and added liittle bits and pieces of supposed insider info to the story. Today it is Talksport's turn to crank up the heat a little more.

They claim  that we are very close to finalising a deal with Celtic, if you believe the article City have held talks with the player, meaning Celtic have granted that permission.  A very tight lid is being clamped on this one if this is the case.   I am not saying that it isn't happening, but over the years I have seen many deals been completed, finding that there is always a little leak somewhere,  even if it right near the end...there is always that little bit of info that escapes.

Just to throw a little more weight to their claims they add at end of the article, stating they have been told Chris Hughton is confident of landing his man.

Hardly earth moving news is it ?     I certainly wouldn't be unhappy if this did materalise, in fact I would love to see it, but just cannot see it during this window....I hope to hell I am wrong
