The latest rumour we have heard, that Celtic's Gary Hooper is to sign for City, with a transfer fee of up to £6 million being mentioned, while another suggested he was already traveling down for talks.
Hooper played and scored tonight in a 2-1 victory for the Hoops in a Champions League Third round qualifier, first leg against HJK Helsinki.
Hardly common practice for a club to play a player who is about to be involved in a transfer deal, in case of injury, also Hooper was supposed on his way for talks with City, of course he could be flying down as we write.
Some how we don't think so.
Chris Hughton has the following to say about his strikers;
"At this moment I have got five forwards that are all pushing for places and want to be part of the plans and they are decisions I need to make over this pre-season period."
To me he seems quite happy with his striker department, he has the same amount of strikers Lambert had in his squad last season, with Chris Martin replacing Wilbraham. I know it doesn't mean that he won;t be adding to that dept or even selling or loaning anyone out,
But to us it doesn't look like Gary Hooper will be added to the ranks, just yet, besides I cannot see Neil Lennon being that keen to part with him. "
