Daniel Farke admits for Norwich City to be leading the Championship with a whole team out injured is ‘surreal’.
The Canaries were missing 12 senior players - including the suspended Emi Buendia - for Saturday's 1-1 draw against Coventry City, and Max Aarons was added to the casualty list when he departed with a shin injury.
Aarons continues to be assessed but City’s medical staff are working overtime to ease the backlog ahead of a midweek league trip to Luton Town.
Farke was only able to name six substitutes at the weekend, with five of those never playing a minute of league football, but the Canaries extended their unbeaten run to 10 games.
Buendia will return from suspension for the trip to Luton and Farke is hoping for good news with Aarons and Lukas Rupp (hamstring), who also missed out at the weekend when he was poised to feature.
“With Lukas, his left hamstring looked to be alright but after the warm up on Friday he felt something in the right hamstring. Maybe he has over-compensated a bit," said Farke.
"Not a major thing but he was uncomfortable and not able to sprint. If I am honest he was really in my thoughts and had a good chance to start.
