As you would expect rumours increase with the window soon to slam shut, the latest batch concerning City include both incoming and outgoing.
Incoming Rumours and News
Arsenal's young Spanish defender Ignasi Miquel, is said to be the subject of a City bid in the region of £1.5mill. Miquel 21 is in the last year of his contract and has failed to make the break through with the gunners, he spent some time at Leciester last season as they won promotion. Does make me think why didn't Leciester make a move for him, my guess would be they needed players with more experience. Our last young Spanish defender (Aylaya) was moved on by Hughton, a decision I found puzzling.
One deal I expected to see completed by now is that of Viadis Odjidja, reports suggested that he would be signing very soon, we followed reports from Belgium who were claiming he had agreed terms yesterday. Also the Daily Mail states we have signed him ( Mail quote : Norwich have also signed midfielder Viadis Odjidja from Club Brugge for £3million after he flew over for talks on Tuesday)
One we all know about is Falkirk's midfielder Conor McGrandles, 18, signed in a deal worth £1m. Some are suggesting he is one for the future, but when you have a look at the amount of games he has got under his belt and in a more physical league, he is probably more expereinced than our own home grown youngsters. It has been suggested that Redmond is off over the weekend, and McGrandles has been brought in as replacement to share duties with the Murphy's...Only a suggestion what I have heard.
Also on the inward conveyor belt of rumours is Lazio’s Michael Ciani. not that Adams isn't interested, but I believe this could be an old one, Hughton was linked with this guy previously very strongly and nothing came of it, so this could be a rehash of that.
Fresh today but been reported before is that Adams is keen on Kris Commons at Celtic, who is seemingly not in new manager Ronny Deila's plans. I cannot see this one happening as their are several Premiership clubs showing big interest, including WBA Leciester and (wait for it) Palace. Of course Commons was best mates with Hooper so whether that could be used a puling power I don't know. But I would expect him to sign for aone of the above.
Outward Rumours
With our old mate Neil Warnock taking over at Palace, and straight away linking himself with Seb Bassong; a move that would be good all round, it would give the player first team chances and get him off the wage bill.
Whatever has gone wrong with Bassong, it really needs sorting out and soon. Warnock is also said to be interested in Gary Hooper, we all know Warnock is a lit like Harry, in being linked with anything that kicks a ball.
I have read many reports stating Hooper wants to leave the club for a premiership, if that is the case, then perhaps selling him is in the best interests all round. On the other hand is the rumours are false then Gary Hooper could be a very good player to hold on to. The official line is he is injured and only just returned to light training, but that line is used rather a lot to mean whatever a club wants,
I would expect there to be more and more links and rumours as we approach the closing of the window,But that will not be the end as the emergancy loan window opens a week later
