It looks very likely that Chris Hughton will soon be making another announcement as his second signing of the summer looks to be drawing closer. According to sources in Barnsley, City are in pole position to sign very highly sought after midfielder Jacob Butterfield.
Butterfield, who has been sidelined with a knee injury since New Years Eve has been the subject of intense speculation with his contract ending on Monday and a new deal offered by Barnsley remaining unsigned. He has been linked with a host of clubs including Newcastle, Sunderland, Everton and Reading.
The report suggests that City are hot favourites to capture the out of contract 22 year old, some compensation will have to be paid as the player is under 24.
