Following yesterday's news that two other clubs had joined the race for Kyle Lafferty, Sheffield Wednesday have now emerged as the front runners with the Yorkshire based club set to pair him up with his old team mate at Norwich Gary Hooper who signed for them from Norwich in the January transfer window.

The move will initially be a loan until the end of the season, with a fee of £1.5m reportedly having been agreed if they want to make it permanent at the end of the season.

Lafferty has very much been on the fringe of the squad this season and has played just 13 minutes so far this season in the Premier League, making the move seem to be in both parties' best inerests.
