Controversial EuroMillions winner Jane Park was so unimpressed by a footballer's performance this weekend that she offered to put up the cash for him to reture!
The 22-year-old, Britain's youngest EuroMillions winner, is a big Hibernian fan.
And on Sunday, the Scot - who at 17 won a cool £1million after buying her first ever EuroMillions ticket - appeared to lose patience with Steven Whittaker during her team’s draw with Celtic.
She tweeted Hibs’ official account, saying: “How much for Whittaker to retire. Can I pay?”
Her post attracted a mixed response, with some Hibees in agreement and others defending their player.
Whittaker, 33, is enjoying a second spell at Easter Road, having coming through the youth ranks before spending five years in the first team. He also has 31 caps for Scotland.
He moved to Rangers for £2m before moving to England with Norwich City before making a heralded return at the start of this season.
But some fans, including Park, don’t seem to be too enamoured with his form so far.
Social media users were split in their reaction to Park’s offer.
A user named Lesley agreed, saying: “He’s absolutely p***.”
Another account said: “Never wanted him back, needs to go, slow as a week in the jail.”
Craig Wilson joined in and aimed criticism at Manchester City loanee Brandon Barker as well. He said: “Can you pay to take that waste of space Barker with him too.”
Norwich fan had some empathy.
Kieran Macklin said: “We was saying that in Norwich for years.”
However others were more supportive of the full back.
David Mudie replied: “Bit OTT. Not his best game today but up against the best winger in Scotland.”
Joe Donohoe echoed that view, saying: “Up against a class player today glad he doesn't meet many more in this league.”
