According to a small report in the Daily Mail, that Chris Hughton is showing interest in Newcastle striker Nile Ranger, Hughton knows the player from his time as Magpies boss and is a keen admirer of the player who spent a period on loan at  Sheffield Wednesday last season.

With Aaron Wilbraham having left, there may be a slot in the squad for another stiker, although Hughton has said he is in no immediate hurry to chop and change his squad; stressing he wants to work first hand with the players in pre season training and games before making any big decisions.

It  stands to reason City will be linked with players especially those who Hughton has worked with,  but this one for Ranger has come of the blue.
