Reports in Lancashire suggest that No City offer has been made for Burnley midfielder Chris McCann, despite being supposedly interested in taking the 24yo player back to Norfolk.
Several times over the course of the past two weeks newspapers have linked Chris Hughton with a move for McCann, it is understood that he is still on accquiring the Irishman.
But the Clarets insisted yesterday that Norwich have not made contact with them or tabled an offer for the midfielder.
The player signed a new deal at Turf Moor last summer, initially for one year with an option for a further 12 months.
The Clarets took up that option in May but it still means that McCann’s current contract will expire next summer, when he could leave for nothing.
Burnley manager Eddie Howe is understood to be interested in signing Chris Martin, so perhaps there could a deal struck involving the City striker going the other way.
