Norwich head coach Farke has reported no fresh injury problems from the 18 who ground out a 1-0 win over Swansea City last Friday that kept the Canaries two points clear at the top of the table.
The head coach was also an interested spectator at Colney on Monday night to watch Louis Thompson’s return from an ankle problem and a first outing for deadline day transfer signing Philip Heise in a 2-2 development draw against Stoke City.
“Pretty good situation. No new injuries,” he said. “Also some good news with Louis Thompson playing in the Under-23s. It was a short term decision because he was only back in training seven or eight days. He looked sharp, pretty good and then after 70 minutes we decided not to take any more risk.
“I won’t use him for Hull. He could be a bit in my thoughts for Rotherham.
Farke has plenty of options for the Tigers’ test with Timm Klose, Mario Vrancic and Moritz Leitner all making late cameos in the Swans’ league win, while Alex Tettey was not included in the matchday squad with Todd Cantwell back after a quad problem.“I expect him to be fully in contention after the international break.
Hull City manager Nigel Adkins has indicated he will be making chnages to the starting lineup for the trip to Norwich tonight. Fraizer Campbell and Evandro, who both came off the bench in Saturday’s loss at Nottingham Forest, will be in contention to start at Carrow Road, as will Kevin Stewart and Liam Ridgewell.
Adkins will also have the option to bring Stephen Kingsley, who has missed the last three games through injury (hip) and illness, fit-again Jon Toral and Nouha Dicko back into his squad having left the trio out of the Tigers’ travelling party that headed to The City Ground at the weekend.
“I said before the Nottingham Forest game that we’d make changes over the course of the three games in the space of a week,” said Adkins.
“There’s no way I can think about playing the same team for three games running. When you play Norwich on a Wednesday night and then have the turnaround to play at home on a Saturday, it is very challenging.
“We’ve got players who put a lot of physical output in so the squad has to be utilised. However, we’re in a position where we can’t afford to pick and choose which games we look to win.”
