Pleading Hell

If you believe internet reports, Chris Hughton is almost going down on bended knee to plead for transfer funds for the transfer window from City's board.

According to these reports one of which is from the Daily Mail,  says that Arsenal's Marouane Chamakh and West Ham United's Carlton Cole are top of Hughton's shortlist.  While we all know that  another option in the striker's department is needed, as goals are a little bit scarce  with only Sunderland scoring less.

It is highly unlikey that Hughton will have to go cap in hand, we know from previous season David McNally has always came up with funds, perhaps not as much as some clubs, but there has always been backing finanically, so why this window would need anyone to plead.

Also it is hard to believe that the newspaper or anyone would know who Hughton is after, if we scour the squad lists of clubs we could  come up with several names of players who are not getting game time, throw these names in a hat and come up with targets.   As always the names of Hughton's targets will be kept within the corridors of Carrow Road.

However I do wonder if the telephone and fax machine will be opening the lines of communication again down to the south coast of Sussex, to sound out Brighton's resolve over Craig Mackall Smith.
