Gary Hooper has moved a step closer to joining Norwich after turning down Celtic’s final offer of a new contract.
Celtic rejected a bid from the Canaries last week, believed to be worth £5million, with manager Neil Lennon keen to keep the former Scunthorpe striker.
City had an improved offer for the 24-year-old turned down this afternoon, but now it looks as if the player now seems to have decided the time is right to move on after opting not to accept the latest deal on the table from the Scottish giants.
talkSPORT quotes a close friend of Hooper's as saying :
“Gary has not been made an offer that puts him on a par with other top earners at the club and he is now looking at options in the Premier League.”
Celtic will probably try to instigate a bidding war from any other interested clubs
