According to a STV report  Alex Neil is set to quit Hamilton Academical and become City's new manager in the next 24 hours,

Barring any last minute hitches and should compensation be agreed, he will replace Neil Adams who rrsigned on Monday.

The report continues:

The 33-year-old held talks with the Carrow Road board on Wednesday and was taken around the club's stadium and training ground.   Neil, who has led Accies to third in the Scottish Premiership table, would originally transfer to Norwich as a player before taking up the position as manager.

I do not understand why he would transfer as a player before taking up his position as manager.  That is a new one on me
