Everyone at Carrow Road is sweating on the outcome of an injury that forced Steven Whittaker to limp off during last night's friendly win at Celtic.

Chris Hughton said:   "We will find out over the next couple of days," . "What he has done is rock his ankle.

"We are hoping it is not going to be too bad but generally with these things you don't know until the next couple of days when you see how it settles down. But we are hoping he is not going to be too bad.

"He has settled in really well but it would be a blow, whether it is Steven or anyone at this stage to be without them for whatever period."

Latest Transfer Rumour City have been linked with Sunderland defender Michael Turner as the Black Cats await news on the injury to fellow centre-half Wes Brown.

Reports in the North  today indicate that  Chris Hughton is ready to make a move for Turner, who has just 12 months remaining on his contract at the Stadium of Light.
