More rumblings in the media on this deal today, ESPN reporting a fee of £8m rather than the £9.1m that was floating around earlier with the article pointing out that Klose is not a regular in the Wolfsburg team this season and wants out to get regular match time so he doesn't lose his place in the Swiss national team a sentiment I can well understand
The Mirror today are reporting a club record fee of £8.5m for the 27 year old - a fee that would equal the amount we paid for Ricky VanWolfswinkel with the medical happening today
The Mail On Sunday are also carrying reports of a very similar figure having been agreed
I think given the amount of press coverage it is getting we can be sure that the deal is very nearly there, the figure I'm sure though will infuriatingly remain 'undisclosed' when the deal finally gets over the touchline.
Alex Neil after the match yesterday confirmed the clubs interest, but made it seem that any potential deal is a lot further away that today's papers would have you believe
'Klose there is an interest. Again we can’t say any more at this stage.'
