Transfer News: Norwich Agree Deal With Bolton For Youngster Regan Riley

Norwich City have agreed a £250,000 deal for Bolton Wanderers youngster Regan Riley, Football Insider understands.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider Riley is currently undergoing a medical with the Championship's top team who are currently eyeing a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.  The Canaries currently sit six points clear of the play-off positions at the top of the table.

Riley became Bolton’s fifth youngest-ever player last season when he made his debut against Tranmere Rovers in League One.

He made his first start for the club in their 2-1 defeat to Shrewsbury Town in the EFL Trophy earlier this season.

Evatt refused to be drawn on Norwich’s interest on Friday but told the Bolton News he rates the boyhood Bolton fan highly.

He added: “Certainly we’re not in a rush to sell or anything like that, we’ll do what we think is right for the football club moving forward and what’s going to be of benefit.”

Manager Daniel Farke has not been shy of calling up young players this term with teenagers Tyrese Omotoye, Andrew Omobamidele and Josh Martin all regulars in his matchday squad.

Riley will most likely link up with Norwich City’s Under-23s squad who compete in Premier League 2 Division 2.

The young Canaries currently sit in 10th position and have lost their last four games.
