Everton have joined the race to sign Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey, according to reports this evening from Football Insider
The highly rated 22-year-old is being targeted by the Toffees as they continue their search to find a new centre-half before the window shuts on 5 October.
However, it is understood that Canaries manager Daniel Farke is reluctant to sell the centre-half as he regards him as vital to the club’s hopes of returning to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Godfrey, who has three years remaining on his contract at Carrow Road, has started all three of Norwich’s Championship games of the 2020/21 campaign.
He made 30 league starts last season and made a strong impression despite the Canaries finishing bottom of the table.
Along with Max Aarons and Todd Cantwell, Godfrey has been regularly touted with an exit from Norwich following the club’s relegation from the Premier League this summer.
