Newcastle United and Norwich City are both looking to bolster their squad for the upcoming Championship season, one target that both recently relegated clubs seems to share is Hellas Verona’s Sweedish International central defender Filip Helander, according to Gazza Mercato.
Following Hellas Verona’s relegation from Italy’s top flight Serie A last season, it is looking that the Gialloblu will be raided this summer, and with Pierluigi Gollini already signing for Aston Villa in the Championship, it is now looking likely that Newcastle United and Norwich City will attempt to prise Helander away from the Italian club.
Filip Helander is a talented 23-year-old centre half who has Champions League experience when he was at Swedish side Malmo, and has also earned the international recognition to play for his national side, Sweden.
With Newcastle United looking beyond Grant Hanley in their pursuit of a centre half, Rafa Benitez may opt to bring in the Swedish international.
With Helander likely to leave Hellas Verona this summer, Newcastle United or Norwich City could potentially be his next destination.
