Sky Bet Championship duo Aston Villa and Norwich City are set to compete on Deadline day for West Ham United’s Ecuadorian striker Enner Valencia, according to the Evening Standard.
It was revealed earlier in the week that Aston Villa’s bid to sign Enner Valencia on a permanent basis was rejected by West Ham, as they were yet to find a replacement.
Since the failed bid, Simone Zaza has joined West Ham United on a season-long loan from Italian giants Juventus with Wilfried Bony also being a reported target for Slaven Bilic’s side.
This transfer movement has freed up the availability of Enner Valencia with promotion candidates Aston Villa and Norwich City, both showing an interest in the 26-year-old striker.
It appears that Aston Villa and Norwich City will compete on deadline day to secure the Ecuadorian striker’s signature on a season-long loan, as they look to bolster their strike force in the hope of returning to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
