Transfer Rumour: Norwich Contemplating Move For Chelsea Attacker Lucas Piazon

Chelsea are reportedly set to terminate the contract of long-serving attacker Lucas Piazon, per an article that has appeared in The Sun this weekend, paving the way for Stoke City and Championship front runners Norwich City who are both believed to be interested in signing him to make an approach for him.

The 26-year-old signed for the Blues back in 2011 when he was just a 17-year-old, but despite a impressive reputation at the time he never hit the heights expected of him and has gone on to make just one league appearance in the nine years he has spent contracted as a professional at the West London club.

As many Chelsea youth signings do, Piazon went on to spend the first few years of his Blues career out on loan to the likes of Malaga, Vitesse and Eintracht Frankfurt to try and help further his development as a senior player, before he was given a chance to impress on the English domestic stage at both Reading and Fulham between 2015 and 2018.

Piazon managed to score a total of 10 times for Fulham in the 51 games he played in on loan at the club, however as the years have gone on, his chances of progressing into the Chelsea first team squad have grown a lot slimmer, and he’s spent the last year and a half out on loan again, this time at Portuguese top-flight club Rio Ave.

TuttoMercato have reported this week that Piazon was wanted by Championship sides Stoke and Norwich along with French club Bordeaux and they will all be monitoring his situation with great interest following the reports emerging that Chelsea are seemingly ready to pay the rest of his contract off.  This will certainly go a long way to making it easier for his suitors to negotiate a deal to secure his services, so Norwich City Head Coach Daniel Farke amongst others will be placed on high alert.
