It has been reported in the media today that Norwich City are apparently taking a close look at Greek striker Giorgos Giakoumakis to help bolster their Premier League strike-force, with the report first appearing through the TEAMtalk outlet.

The front-man who plays for VVV Venlo has been taking the Dutch league by storm this season, and is averaging almost a goal a game. His stats for the season currently show him having scored 27 goals in just 29 appearances, and lies top of the Eredivise goalscoring table.  To put that into context, his closest rival is PSV’s Donyell Malen – a striker who is thought to be rated in the €30m bracket.

Rather impressively for Giakoumakis and VVV Venlo, his 24 goals in the league this season have come from just 38 shots on target.

His performances have, understandably, seen a host of clubs become very keen to watch him closely, with sources having revealed to TEAMtalk according to their article that Norwich City are indeed one of those parties who are interested in potentially acquiring his services.

The Canaries have stayed commendably loyal to a lot of the players who helped them to gain promotion to the Premier League last time around two years ago. However, Norwich's hierarchy also seeming understand that they need to give boss Daniel Farke more options to help keep them up this time around.
