Tottenham Hotspur moving for Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey appears to be becoming more likely, after an excellent start to the campaign for the young defender
The Daily Mail reported how Tottenham had eyes on the Norwich centre-back in the summer, but they did not push to sign him on that occasion.
Spurs are sure to have been impressed by Godfrey’s progress this season though, and the 21-year-old has settled into life in the Premier League excelently with newly promoted Norwich.
Godfrey has looked composed on the ball, and his defending has also been robust when required.
The youngster’s form earned him the armband for England’s under-21 side last night, as they beat Kosovo.
Godfrey is rapidly becoming one of the best defensive prospects in England and he surely must have pushed his way up on Tottenham’s wishlist.
The youngster was already on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar, and he has only made himself a more appealing signing since.
Tottenham are likely to have to pay more for Godfrey next year than they would have last summer, as he has just penned a new contract with Norwich, but they have now seen that he can perform at the highest level.
