Swindon Town want to sign Norwich City attacker Tyrese Omotoye. The Robins are awaiting a green light from the Canaries to land him on loan until the end of the season, according to the Sun on Sunday published today.
Daniel Farke’s side had been planning on loaning him out in the January transfer window but he has found himself on the bench for the first team recently following an injury to top scorer Teemu Pukki.
However, the young starlet may well now be sent to the County Ground until the end of the season to get some valuable first-team experience under his belt and help in Swindon Town's fight to avoid relegation from League One.
Swindon manager John Sheridan has been in the hunt this month for some attacking reinforcements as he looks to sharpen his forward line. Enter Omotoye, who at just 18 years old, is already being tipped to have a bright future in the game and would give the Robins some quality and a different option going in attack.
The ex-Belgium youth international started his football playing career in non-league at Cray Wanderers, it was from there that Norwich invited him to Carrow Road. He signed his first professional playing contract with the Championship league leaders and strong candidates for promotion back to the Premiership at the first time of asking in October 2019.
Omotoye scored a hat-trick for their Under-21’s side in the EFL Trophy earlier in the current campaign against Newport County. He has since gone on to make a handful of subsitute appearances for their first team in this season but could now be on his way out on loan to help further his experience and development of competitve football.
Swindon are hoping to land him and they drew 2-2 away to Charlton Athletic yesterday but threw away a two goal lead.
