Norwich City have agreed a deal to sign highly-rated centre-back Jerome Onguene from Ligue 2 side Sochaux, according to a number of media outlets.
Onguene is regarded as one of the best young defenders in Europe after impressing for club and country over the last couple of years.
The 18-year-old has been a regular in the Sochaux side for the past two seasons and he helped France win the European Under-19 Championship.
A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for Onguene, but Norwich have moved quickly to agree a deal for the centre-back.
Onguene, who can also play at right-back, will provide cover and competition for first-choice centre-back pairing Timm Klose and Ryan Bennett and Norwich boss Alex Neil sees him a valuable addition to his squad as he looks to win promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
