Manchester United are keeping a keen eye on Norwich City defender Max Aarons, according to more reports emerging in the mainstream press today.
Despite spending upwards of £140million on defenders over the last two years, United remain short on options at right-back position with Aaron Wan-Bissaka the only senior player in the position.
Brandon Williams is actually right-footed but tends to be deployed at left-back, while other fill-ins Victor Lindelof, Axel Tuanzebe and Timothy Fosu-Mensah are natural centre-backs.
With Wan-Bissaka's recent time on the sidelines proving how important he is to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United have begun to be linked with a number of full-backs ahead of the January transfer window.
The latest, according to the both the Daily Mail and the Mirror today, is Norwich's young starlet Max Aarons, who played a vital role in the Canaries' promotion charge in 2019 and impressed in the Premier League despite their relegation.
Barcelona were heavily linked with the 20-year-old in the summer, but they eventually signed Sergino Dest from Ajax instead, whilst Aarons has continued his good form this season, with has seen Norwich reach the top of the Championship, which has then encouraged Man United to 'keep close tabs' on the attacking full-back.
However, the report adds, that Aarons is potentially seen as a longer term target and the club may want to opt to wait until the summer before making any move..
