After their dismal showing in the Euro finals, Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has rung the changes out go some of the old guard in the form of Given, Dunne, Duff, Andrews, Hunt and Keane.
But yet again the short sighted stubborn Italian has found no place for either of City's Wes Hoolahan or Anthony Pilkington. It isn't as if he has that many players as skilful as Hoolahan to call upon and with Duff missing out, he has missed the opportunity for Pilkington to show his wing play.
How is this headstrong old timer still in a job ?
While I do feel sorry for the players, City have a bonus, there is no chance the pair can be injured playing for their Country just few days before the Premier league kicks off
