Two More Casualties On The Norwich Injury List As 4 Close To Returning

Norwich City duo Ben Gibson and Przemyslaw Placheta will both miss the next two weeks of action through injury.

Gibson (calf) and Placheta (hamstring) have failed to recover from knocks picked up in the win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and will miss the next fortnight.

Speaking at his pre-Nottingham Forest press conference, Daniel Farke revealed some positive news on the fitness of Todd Cantwell, Kieran Dowell, Kenny McLean and Jordan Hugill.

"The best news is with Todd Cantwell. He's been involved in parts of team training and if he trains today, he will definitely be involved [against Nottingham Forest]. It's too soon for him to return to the squad but we have to be creative because of our situation. He's not fully prepared for 90 minutes but he could be a topic for the squad.

"We will also try and bring Kieran Dowell, Kenny McLean and Jordan Hugill back on the pitch today. They did some tests and it looked quite good.

"It's too soon for them to return to the matchday squad. Kenny is 9-10 days ahead of schedule and Kieran is two weeks ahead of schedule. They need time.

"We need to take some, I wouldn't label risks, but we need to push it a bit. It would be good to have them back in training and involved soon."

As for other absentees, returns for Tim Krul and Lukas Rupp aren't too far away.

"With Lukas Rupp, he won't be involved at the weekend. Next Wednesday game is too soon for him as well but he won't be long.

"Tim Krul is improving. He will hopefully be back as soon as possible. He won't be involved tomorrow.
