Has Chris Hughton dropped a clanger ? We did express that we thought it wasn't the best move to send James Vaughan on a season long loan. Vaughan has settled into his role at Huddersfield very well, following from scoring at Ipswich the other week he followed with a goal and assists in last night impressive victory at Blackpool.
So much is he a hit at the Terriers they are now reported to be considering buying the player in January, Huddersfield manager Simon Grayson said their local paper.
“Signing James in January is a possibility,” he said. “We’ve got him on loan until the end of the season anyway so that’s an option.
"I’ve got a chairman who’s willing to back me in the transfer market and he’s done it previously.
“There’s lots of options for us but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.
“James is rightly flying with confidence. All he needed when we signed him in the summer was games under his belt.
“If he can have an injury-free season, he can be a major acquisition for us because he’s strong, powerful and good in the air, and he was a constant threat for us against Blackpool."
With City's lack of goals with strikers looking like they have forgotten where the net is, to allow Vaughan to leave is starting to look like bad judgement, even more so as he was the one striker who had looked sharp and scoring in the pre season games.
