We have covered players we think may be hunting for new pastures, City have supposedly having the best squad in the League, something I have not adhered to , as the season so far backs up.But there are some positions where that bit extra is needed.
One area is right back, Whittaker has had a couple of decent games scoring two vital goals, but he is lacking a little especially against a speedy winger. So I believe we need another full back. The other side of defence we have Olsson and Garrido, with Olsson looking to be the first choice, But Garrido is within the last months of his contract so a decision needs to be made .
The central defence we seem to have an over stock Turner, Bennett, Hoolveld,Miquel,Cuéllar,Martin and Bassong (Returned from Watford but will probably be on his way to Brighton)
But this area has caused more trouble than any other, there should be more than enough in there to find the right pairing. I am of the thinking Hoolveld could be returned to Southampton as his game time has dropped right away.
Midfield, I would still like to see an playmaker midfielder, who is a threat from set pieces and doesn't not need half the pitch to turn nor giving the ball away cheaply
Strikers Jerome has been the leading light in scoring, Grabban has faded away after a bright start and looks very average. Hooper is starting to get going and will improve. Lafferty I struggle to see just what he brings to the table except the danger of Red cards. Becchio will no doubt leaving , although I would still love to see what he could do.
I would add another striker to the list, one name we have seen City linked with is Dundee United’s Turkish striker Nadir Ciftci. he has netted eight times this season and 25 in all since moving from Dutch club NAC Breda the summer before last, Estimated price in the region of £3million
