Fulham are showing interest in Norwich City's seemingly out-of-favour centre-back Sebastien Bassong but are unwilling to match his wages.
Cottagers boss Slavisa Jokanovic knows the Cameroon international defender well, having worked with him during Bassong's successful loan stint at Watford two seasons ago.
Bassong has fallen behind Timm Klose and Ryan Bennett in the first-team pecking order at Carrow Road during the opening weeks of the new season, and may yet be behind Russell Martin when the captain returns to fitness too, but Norwich may not be looking to offload the defender on a free transfer.
The 30-year-old has one year left on his current City deal but, according to the Daily Mail, Fulham would be unable to match Bassong's current Canaries salary.
Norwich have been linked with a move for Sochaux's young central defender Jerome Onguene in the last few days.
