Former Canaries Favourite Angus Gunn Secures MLS Move After World Cup Performances

Scotland goalkeeper and former Norwich City club favourite Angus Gunn has completed a move to Major League Soccer title hopefuls San Jose Earthquakes following his release by Nottingham Forest after last season

The 30-year-oldkeeper, who so far has 25 caps for his country, has agreed a long term contract with the Earthquakes until the end of the 2030 MLS season.

San Jose Earthquakes currently sit second in the Western Conference 15 games into the season, only behind Vancouver Whitecaps on goal difference but having played one game more.

"It feels incredible to join the Earthquakes," he told the club website. "Coming off the World Cup, which was an unbelievable experience, I'm just really excited and grateful for the opportunity to come to San Jose and show the best version of myself.

"We're in a really good position for the play-offs, so hopefully we can focus on that with the right mentality."

Gunn played all three of Scotland's group games at the World Cup in the United States, starting with a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Haiti before the team suffered a 1-0 loss to Morocco and then also a 3-0 reverse against Brazil.

Arena was pleased to have signed "a quality goalkeeper" with Gunn bringing both Premier League and World Cup experience to the club.
