Reports are circulating on the internet this afternoon in The72 that Norwich City have revived their interest in Rangers winger Rabbi Matondo, with Clement keen on reuniting with the 25-year-old on a loan deal until the end of the season after managing the player during his time in charge of the Glasgow Club
Matondo is a player that some Norwich City fans may well be familiar with from previous transfer efforts a couple of years ago. The Canaries tried to land the Welshman in the summer of 2024, but were knocked back with their approach at the time.
Clement was manager of Rangers when Norwich made their previous approach, and after Matondo scored twice and provided two assists in a 6-0 win over Ross County, the Belgian made a decision to keep him at Ibrox.
Injury would disrupt his involvement under Clement thereafter before a loan to 2. Bundesliga side Hannover 96 the following January. Matondo has been back in the squad after another lay-off but he is being eyed for a reunion with Clement at Carrow Road.
A 15-cap Wales international, Matondo primarily plays on the wing but has been utilised in central roles too. The speedy attacker played the best football of his Rangers career under Clement and will be eager to get back to those levels over the second half of this season.
