Transfer Rumour: Norwich Linked With Feyenoord captain Steven Berghuis

Norwich City have identified Feyenoord captain Steven Berghuis as a potential replacement for Emiliano Buendia, who they sold to Aston Villa earlier this month.

Per PA Media, Norwich are interested in bringing Berghuis to Carrow Road thanks to his low price tag, which reported to be €5 million. Much like Buendia’s ability to play out wide or through the middle, Berghuis plays on the right-hand side of midfield with a tendency to drift inside and operate as a creative outlet behind the striker.

Norwich’s interest in Berghuis has been a long-standing one. They first tried to sign him in 2015, but the Dutchman opted for Watford, where he had a forgettable two-year stint, making just one start for the Hornets.

Having allowed Buendia to leave, Norwich will be hoping to find a replacement in time for their first Premier League game of the 2021/2 season, which sees them host Liverpool on Saturday, August 14.

Transfer Rumour: Gunn To Undergo Carrow Road Medical On Monday

Hampshire Live journalist Tom Leach has delivered an update on Angus Gunn joining Norwich City this summer, as Ralph Hasenhuttl continues to trim some of the fringe players from the Southampton squad ahead of the kick off for the 2021/22 Premier League season.

The journalist has stated on Twitter that:

“Angus Gunn will have his #NCFC medical on Monday, I’m told. He will then finalise a £5.5m move (£2.5m initial payment, could rise to £10m with clauses).”

Gunn has endured a nightmare spell at St Mary’s since joining in a £13.5m deal from Manchester City in 2017, making just 30 appearances for the first team, in which he conceded 52 goals and kept just eight clean sheets.

Transfer Rumour: Norwich Interested In Young English Winger Joel Randall

Peterborough United have made the first move for Exeter City star Joel Randall but face rival interest from Celtic and Norwich City, according to a report published today by Football Insider.

The winger, 21, was previously the subject of three failed transfer bids from Charlton in the January transfer window having lit up League Two.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider that Peterborough have had a six-figure bid for Randall knocked back by Exeter.

The fourth-tier club are hopeful of securing a higher fee for the breakout star.

Exeter expect to lose Randall this summer with a year remaining on his contract.

Expected bids from Celtic and Norwich could push up the asking price for the youngster, which Lee Bowyer claimed in January was “around £1million”.

Randall, who is predominantly a left-sided attacker but can operate on both flanks, scored 10 goals and provided five assists for Exeter from 32 matches last season.

He has been at Exeter City since he was 11 and is a product of the same academy that has produced Ollie Watkins and Ethan Ampadu in recent years.

Transfer Rumour: Norwich Chasing £15m Rated Bournemouth Midfielder Philip Billing

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing is a transfer target for Premier League side Norwich City this summer, according to The Mirror.

Having lost both Alex Tettey and Mario Vrancic this summer, as well as last season’s Tottenham loanee Oliver Skipp, the Canaries lack depth in the middle of the park upon their return to the top flight.

And following the Cherries’ failure to follow Daniel Farke’s side with promotion of their own, Billing is one of many players who may be seeking an exit from the Vitality Stadium.

The Denmark international appeared 42 times in all competition last season, but was seen to best effect under Jonathan Woodgate, who pushed him into a more advanced midfield role.

Seven of Billing’s eight goals came in the final 17 games of the regular Championship season and he added four assists to his tally in that time as well, with the 25-year-old proving to be a prolific figure.

Bournemouth paid £15 million to Huddersfield for Billing’s services back in 2019 and the Mirror believe that the Cherries would command a similar fee to prize him away from Dorset – and Norwich have cash to spend following the sale of Emi Buendia to Aston Villa.

Transfer Rumour: Leeds Looking To Derail Norwich Gunn Move

Leeds United are attemptin to derail Norwich City’s deal for Southampton goalkeeper Angus Gunn, according to reports published today by Football Insider.

Norwich have been working on the resigning of their academy product and former loanee and have agreed a £5million-plus fee with the Saints.

However, a recruitment source has told Football Insider Leeds are also keen on Gunn, 25, and have registered their interest in a late ambush.

United are looking to offload number two Kiko Casilla this summer after he slipped behind Illan Meslier in the pecking order.  And with Gunn having been targeted by Leeds before he is regarded as the ideal competition and cover for first choice stopper Meslier.

The Whites were reportedly originally keen on signing the young English shot-stopper before his move from Manchester City to Southampton in 2018.

Gunn has fallen out of favour at Southampton and is now behind Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster in the pecking order.

Norwich, where Gunn spent the 2017/18 campaign on loan, have had a £5million-plus bid accepted by the Saints and are negotiating other terms of the deal.

However, Leeds have made a late move to try and beat the newly-promoted side to his capture.

The keeper spent the 2020/21 season on loan at Championship side Stoke City, making 15 appearances.  Unfortunately while there he suffered an ankle injury in November which kept him out of 15 games for the Potters.  Gunn then suffered a foot injury in April which ultimately ended his season.

He has a total of 22 Premier League appearances under his belt, while he was an unused substitute for England against Brazil in 2017.

Transfer Rumour: Norwich After £15m Rated Bournemouth Midfielder Philip Billing

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Philip Billing is a transfer target for Premier League side Norwich City this summer, according to The Mirror.

Transfer News: Norwich Interested In Boca Juniors Buendia Replacement

Norwich City have quickly identified their preferred replacement for Emiliano Buendia after his club-record transfer to Aston Villa, according to reports.

The club confirmed upon his exit that they would have preferred to keep him, but couldn’t turn down such a substantial sum. What’s more, Buendia himself wanted the move.

Norwich now know they have a big void to fill in their team as they look to make a better attempt at staying up next season.

And according to Argentine source Ole (via The Sun) they have already found someone who they could bring in to replace Buendia.

The player in question is Norberto Briasco, who plays in Argentina for Huracan and represents Armenia internationally (qualifying through his maternal grandfather).

Briasco has spent his entire senior career so far at Huracan, after making his debut in 2016. Now 25 years old, it could be time for him to test himself in Europe.

Norwich have overseen some clever deals in recent years and are hoping Briasco could follow in Buendia’s footsteps. The winger has an asking price of just £3.2m.

That’s double the amount that fellow suitors Boca Juniors are willing to pay. On the other hand, Norwich are ready to meet the full value and have already made contact.

Daniel Farke will then look to strengthen other areas of his squad in an effort to prepare them better for another crack at top-flight football.

Transfer News: Phillip Heise's Departure Confirmed After 1 Game In 2 Years

Norwich City have confirmed the permanent exit of left-back Philip Heise.

The German, who turns 30 later this month, will be staying with Bundesliga 2 loan club Karlsruher - having only made one appearance for the Canaries.

Signed from Dynamo Dresden for a nominal fee in January 2019 ahead of his contract expiring, City's promotion a few months later meant that Heise's only appearance came during a shock 1-0 loss to League Two side Crawley in the League Cup second round at the start of the next campaign.

He was on the bench for two Premier League games before returning to the German second tier and helping Nuremberg to scrape to survival last year.

This season he was with Karlsruher and mixing it in the top half of Bundesliga 2, eventually slipping away from promotion contention to finish sixth, with a goal and six assists during 30 appearances.

With Norwich returning to the Premier League this season it seemed unlikely that another opportunity in England would follow and Karlsruher sporting director Oliver Kreuzer had revealed last month that a permanent switch was close.
