Transfer Rumour: Norwich Reportedly Open Talks With Bournemouth Over Philip Billing

Norwich City have opened discussions with Bournemouth over a move for 25-year-old midfielder Philip Billing, according to reports.

Billing has made 79 appearances for the Cherries since joining from Huddersfield Town in July 2019, including playing for then 34 times in the Championship last season, and netting eight goals, as The Cherries reached the play-offs.

Bournemouth's Premier League dream was ended by Brentford, who went on to gain promotion by beating Swansea City in the final, and It looks like Billing could soon be returning to the top flight as well, albeit with a new team for the new season.

Football Insider claims that Norwich are hoping to sign him and have entered talks over a deal.

A new central midfielder is top of their summer wish list, even though they completed the signing of Billy Gilmour on loan recently.

The Canaries want a player who has experience competing in the Prem, and Billing fits that criteria.

He could soon be the subject of an official bid from the newly-promoted side.

Norwich’s finances have been boosted by the sale of Emi Buendia to Aston Villa. The Argentinian playmaker registered 32 goal contributions last term but was sold to bring in funds ahead of the new campaign.

It’s not yet known whether Bournemouth would allow Billing to leave. He is contracted at the Vitality stadium until June 2024, which means they will not be forced into a sale.

The Cherries would be looking to recoup all of the £15million they paid for him two years ago.

Transfer Rumour: Norwich lining up move for PAOK winger Christos Tzolis

Norwich City are reported to be considering a club-record transfer bid in an attempt to sign PAOK winger Christos Tzolis, Football Insider has reported.

The Canaries have returned to the Premier League after a single campaign in the Championship last year, and they have shown significantly more ambition in the transfer market than their previous promotion season.

In 2018/19, the hierarchy were content to stick with the options in the first-team squad, and they paid the price as they were relegated without a fight.

They are keen to avoid a similar repeat next season but have ground to make after sanctioning the sale of Emiliano Buendia to Aston Villa.

Todd Cantwell has also been fancied to make the switch to Villa Park, and the club need to bring in quality replacements to avoid another drop.

Milot Rashica was recently added to the ranks as Buendia’s replacement, and they now have their sights on landing Greek sensation Tzolis.

The 19-year-old had a top campaign for PAOK last season, registering 16 goals and 10 assists from 46 appearances across all competitions.

He has been linked with Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund, but the Canaries are fancied to sign him in a club-record deal worth £10 million.

Transfer Rumour: Sebastian Soto On Verge Of Leaving for €1m After Just One Season

It looks like it didn’t take very long for Norwich City and Porto to find a deal for the transfer of Sebastian Soto, as the news about his move to Portugal came all of a sudden.

The Dragons’ agreement to land the 20-year-old was first reported last night by outlet Mais Futebol, and local newspapers bring a few more details on the deal today.

Newspaper Record confirms that Soto is joining Porto on a one-year loan deal, and now adds that the Portuguese side will have the option to buy the player for only €1m in this period.

The striker will join the club’s B squad at first, but will have his way open to impress manager Sergio Conceição and go up in their ‘elevator’ to the first team.

Record highlights that the Dragons have been looking for young and cheap players, and pinpoints the impressive form that Soto has been having for the United States national team.

Norwich City signed Soto on a free move from Hannover 96 last summer. They immediately sent him to the Netherlands, where he spent six months on loan at Telstar.

The striker had seven goals in 12 games for the Dutch side and then returned to the Canaries in January. However, he couldn’t find a place in the English side, and could now be leaving the club for good.
