Celtic have have reportedly rejected two bids for sought after defender Kristoffer Ajer.

According to a report published at The Athletic, the Bhoys have rejected £10 million offers from both Bayer Leverkusen and Norwich City already this summer.

The Norway international has made it clear to Celtic that he wants to leave the club and is unhappy with how they have handled the situation.

It has been claimed that Celtic have assured him that he will be sold if they receive an ‘appropriate’ offer.

Celtic want to secure a substantial fee for Ajer, but Norwich are unlikely to increase their bid for the defender.

The 23-year-old will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs outside Scotland in January, ahead of the 2022-23 campaign.

Chelsea star Billy Gilmour was reported to be in the process of joining Norwich City on a season-long loan next week, but nothing concrete has surfaced yet regarding a move for the highly rated young midfielder, according to football.london.

The 20-year-old has been linked with a loan move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, with a number of Premier League clubs all claimed to be keen to secure his services for the season ahead.

Newly promoted side Norwich City had appeared to be winning the race for the impressive young Scot, with the Canaries said to be both Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel’s favoured option for the youngster.

The Scotland international was claimed to be likely to complete a season-long loan move to Carrow Road next week, with Norwich confident of getting the deal across the line.

However, claims linking Gilmour with an imminent move to Daniel Farke’s side are wide of the mark as nothing concrete has emerged yet regarding a move for the player.

While Norwich being close to signing the Scot on loan appear to be far from true, those associated with Chelsea are not surprised that he is heavily being linked with a loan move.

It appears that Chelsea boss Tuchel is yet to make a final decision regarding the former Rangers youth star’s immediate future.

Sheffield United defender Jayden Bogle is not on the radar of Premier League new boys Norwich City, according to Norwich Evening News.

Sheffield United’s recent relegation down into the Championship has seen several of their key players linked with moves away from Bramall Lane.

Jayden Bogle only arrived at the club from Derby County last summer and played a total of 16 games in the Premier League. He played 21 games across the campaign in all competitions, scoring three times in the process.

Norwich City were said to be keen on bringing Bogle to Carrow Road this summer, presumably as a replacement for the in-demand Max Aarons. However, fresh reports claim that the Canaries ‘have no interest’ in the defender.

The report claims that if Aarons was to depart the club for pastures new, they would be well equipped with Sam Byram expected to be fit for pre-season next month and teenager Bali Mumba able to make the step up comfortably.

With Aarons having graduated from the academy, Norwich will generate a large profit from the youngster if they were to sell. Therefore they could look to replace him in the current transfer market, but Bogle won’t be that man.

The Sheffield United player could well be on the move elsewhere between now and the end of the transfer window but as things stand he will stay in South Yorkshire, compete for his place and look to secure promotion back to the top tier at the first time of asking.

Rochdale and Exeter City lead the race to sign Norwich City goalkeeper Archie Mair this summer, Football Insider understands.

The Scotland Under-21 international is highly thought of at Carrow Road and recently signed a new deal at the Premier League new boys until 2024.

A Norwich source has told Football Insider that a host of EFL clubs have made enquiries about taking Mair on loan for next season.The Canaries are open to the idea, with Rochdale and Exeter currently the leading contenders.

The recent arrival of Angus Gunn from Southampton has increased competition for places in the Norwich City side.

The Canaries feel Mair would be best suited to going out on loan again to get valuable first-team experience under his belt.

Rochdale, fresh from suffering relegation from League One last season, are looking to rebuild their squad and see Mair as a key addition to their plans.

Exeter are also aiming to bolster their goalkeeping ranks during this summer’s transfer window.

Mair spent last season on loan at National League outfit King’s Lynn Town and he impressed during his time at the club.

The 6ft 5in shot-stopper made 25 appearances in all competitions for Kings Lynn and kept four clean sheets.

The Scot moved to Carrow Road from Aberdeen in 2019 and made the bench for two Premier League games the last time Norwich were in the top flight.

Chelsea midfielder Billy Gilmour is set to complete a season-long loan move to newly promoted Norwich City next week, according to reports.

Several clubs across the Premier League were interested in loaning Gilmour after an impressive competitive international debut for his country - being voted Man of the Match in matchday two of Euro 2020.

However, it appears that Norwich have won the race for the midfielder, as per The Athletic.

It is understood that Norwich is Thomas Tuchel and Chelsea's preferred destination for Gilmour as the Canaries Head Coach was in charge of Borussia Dortmund's second team at the same time Tuchel managed the first team.

As well as the good relationship between the two coaches, Norwich play a version of the 'double six' midfield pairing that Tuchel has discussed during his time at Chelsea, a system that he deploys with two of N'golo Kante, Jorginho or Mateo Kovacic.

The Athletic continues to report that Tuchel believes a move to Norwich will prepare Gilmour for a return to Stamford Bridge next summer.Norwich are in the market for a midfielder, with Oliver Skipp returning to Tottenham Hotspur after a successful loan spell in the Championship.

The deal is likely to be completed next week as Gilmour is allowed to undergo a medical once he finishes his period of self-isolation on Wednesday.

With the Scotsman's contract set to expire in two years, the Blues could be set to extend Gilmour's contract before any loan move is confirmed.

Angus Gunn has passed a Norwich City medical as he finalises a move from Southampton, according to claims being made today by the Football Insider website.

Daniel Farke’s Norwich City side have fended off late competition from Leeds United in their attempts to re-sign their former academy product.

A recruitment sourceat the club has told Football Insider that Gunn, 25, completed a Norwich medical today (Tuesday) and is in the process of putting pen to paper on a three-year contract with an option for a fourth year.

Norwich are believed to be paying Southampton a fee in the region of around £5million for the former England Under-21 international keeper.

Leeds had also made a late push for the 6 ft 4in giant as they look to replace Kiko Casilla this summer, however the former Manchester City man has seemingly opted to go to a club where he has a realistic chance of being a regular starter.

His career had somewhat ground to a halt at the south coast club, where by last season he had slipped behind both Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster in the pecking order for the number one jersey.

He was then loaned out to Championship outfit Stoke City last October for the majorityof the season. However he then missed two months with an ankle injury but ultimately made 15 Championship appearances for the Potters.

Norwich, where Gunn spent the 2017-18 campaign on loan, moved to be reunited with the son of club legend Bryan.

He will compete for the number one shirt with longstanding number one Tim Krul.  The 33-year-old Dutchman has been the first choice during his three years at Norwich and conceded just 23 goals in 36 league starts last season.

Southampton are leading the race for the signature of Blackburn Rovers striker Adam Armstrong, despite Norwich City recently joining the chase for the player, according to reports publsihed for the first time today in the Daily Telegraph.

Armstrong has sparked off a furious race for his signature this summer after another impressive last season in the Championship.

Blackburn may well have finished in the bottom half of the league at the end of the season, but Armstrong scored another 28 goals last term, taking his record to an impressive 46 goals in the English second division over the previous two seasons.

Everton and West Ham have been previously been reported to have shown an interest in signing Adam Armstrong, while Norwich have seemingly joined the chase at this later stage for the 24-year-old's signature.  Although it has been claimed in the media that Southampton currently have the edge in the race to sign the prolific striker this transfer window.

The Saints are in the market for a striker amid an amount of ongoing uncertainty over the future of Danny Ings at the club, and Armstrong has emerged as one of their preferred options and the club are actively pushing to take him to St. Mary’s this summer.

Blackburn are reported to be prepared to cash in on the star front man Armstrong, but only only if the offer is at the right price.

Norwich City are interested in making a move to sign Sheffield United right-back Jayden Bogle this summer ahead of a return to the Premier League, according to Sky Sports.

Bogle was only signed by Sheffield United from Derby County last summer and he managed to enjoy an impressive first campaign in the Premier League despite the Blades’ struggles in the top-flight. In total, the 20-year-old managed to score two goals in the 16 appearances he made for them in the league last season.

Following Sheffield United’s relegation from the top flight of English Football, there has already been interest in one or two of their key players.  Now according to Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre (22/06/21, 16:02), the Blades are going to face a battle to keep hold of Bogle this summer with Norwich City placing the 20-year-old on their list of potential transfer targets.

This comes as the Canaries aim to ramp up their transfer preparations ahead of their crucial first season back in the top-flight.  And more crucially try and fight off interest in the own right back Max Aarons who Bogle could be considered a ready made replacement for should the worst happen for the Canaries.

The 20-year-old though seems to be the perfect sort of signing for Norwich to make this summer and he fits in with their recruitment model of signing young and talented players to be developed. The chance to remain in the Premier League might well be very appealing to the right-back and the Blades are going to have to work hard to show him they have ambition and convince him to stay.

Contractually speaking, Sheffield United are in a strong place with Bogle and therefore there is no real reason for them to be overly concerned about interest in him. However, if Norwich do firm up their interest with an offer in the coming weeks then they will have to be prepared to try and remain firm because he is a player they should do all they can to keep.
