Transfer Rumour: Hearts Set To Hijack Norwich's Bid For Striker Kasper Hogh

Norwich City’s reported interest in striker Kasper Høgh is seemingly set to be hijacked by Hearts after the Danish hitman’s double in Bodo/Glimt’s stunning 3-1 Champions League win over Manchester City according to reports on the Sportsboom website

The Scottish Premiership league leaders are looking to replace the goals of captain and talisman Lawrence Shankland. The Scottish international is set to be sidelined for up to two months with a hamstring injury sustained in Hearts’ Scottish Cup exit against Falkirk earlier this month.

With Hearts' desperate to break the Glasgow title duopoly of Celtic and Rangers, the Tynecastle club have now turned their sights to hotshot hitman Hogh to help them become kings of Scottish football for the first time in 66 years.

Hearts had previously been linked with another highly-rated Scandinavian frontman Daniel Karlsbakk of Eliteserien club, it is understood Sarpsborg is now a target for Turkish club  Trabzonspor.

It does however remain to be seen though if they have sufficient funds to prise away the forward who represented Denmark below senior level. A question less likely to leveled at Norwich City now it has widely been stated in the press that Josh Sargent is unlikely to ever play for the club again as he seeks to force a move to Toronto in the MLS

Hogh, 25, netted a first half double against faltering Man City, overshadowing misfiring Erling Haaland, to further underline his potential, taking in the process his season’s goal tally to 20 and increasing his value.

Our Merseyside sources suggest Hogh is also on Everton’s radar. David Moyes’ side has managed only 24 league goals, making them one of the lowest scoring teams in the Premier League.

Transfer Rumour: Bayern Munich Battling Barcelona For Norwich City Youngster Ajay Tavares

Bayern Munich are reported to rivalling Barcelona in the Daily Mail to seal a sensational deal to sign 16 year-old Norwich star Ajay Tavares.

The highly-rated forward has been chased by some of Europe‘s top clubs ahead of January, but the Spanish giants are still expected to win the race.

Tavares, who made his senior Canaries debut in a July pre-season friendly against Dutch outfit Volendam, was wanted by Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund.

But he is reportedly still heading for the Nou Camp, where the plan is for him to play for their Under-19s before moving up to Barcelona B ahead of a future loan move.

Tavares, who has a Portuguese passport which allows him to move abroad, has been capped four times for England Under-17s.

Tavares would have become Norwich’s youngest player had he featured at any time this season, but is yet to be involved with the first-team in a competitive game.

Their Under-18 side, who Tavares currently plays for, have not fared much better, currently sitting 14th of 15 teams in the U18 Premier League South.

Tavares will now continue his development in Barcelona, who have had the likes of Alejandro Balde, Gavi, Fermin Lopez and superstar Lamine Yamal come through their academy in recent years.

Transfer Rumour: Midfielder Harry Amass Set To Join On Loan From Manchester Utd

Manchester United youngster Harry Amass is widely reported to be on the verge of joining Norwich City on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 18-year-old emerged on the scene during the second half of the previous season, when he was handed his senior debut at Manchester United by then manager of the club Ruben Amorim.

Last summer, the club thought it was best to send the teenager out on loan so he could gain first team experience. As such, Amass initially joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan with the club reportedly covering his full salary.

Wednesday are expectedly enduring a miserable campaign, with their fate already sealed. However, Amass managed to impress at Hillsborough.

The teenager has won back-to-back Player of the Month awards, an honour that he boasted of on social media as a response to Amorim, who ill-advsidely said the player was struggling in the Championship.

In any case, Man Utd officials felt that Amass had seen enough in Sheffield, so they decided to recall him in the middle of the season, as they did with Toby Collyer, who spent the first half of the season at West Brom, but is now on the cusp of signing for Hull City on loan.

According to Sky Sports News correspondents Anthony Joseph and Dan Khan, Amass is now expected to join Norwich City.

Transfer Rumour: Norwich After Bodo/Glimt Champions League Striker Kasper Hogh

Norwich City have made a bid to sign Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh, reports journalist Mike McGrath

The Canaries are working to bring in what looks like a direct replacement for wantaway striker Josh Sargent. Journalist Mike McGrath has revealed on X that Norwich City ‘have made a bid’ to sign Bodo/Glimt striker Kasper Hogh, who already has 17 goals and five assists in 28 league games for Norwegian outfit Bodo/Glimt this season.

Hogh is a 25-year-old Danish striker who began his career with Randers but has made his name with Bodo/Glimt, who he joined in 2024.

His record in Denmark with the likes of Randers and Aalborg wasn’t all that impressive. But he’s really found his scoring touch in Norway with an incredible record of 40 goals in 81 total games for the club.

Last season, Hogh was the joint top-scorer in the Europa League and helped Bodo win the Norwegian top flight, scoring 12 goals in 23 league games as well as seven in 14 Europa League games.

Standing at 6ft1, Hogh may be much more of a target man than Sargent is, and if he can come in at Carrow Road and replace the goals that Sargent brings to the side then he’ll become an instant favourite, especially considering how Sargent’s Norwich spell looks set to end negatively.

Transfer Rumour: Norwich Interested in Finland Striker Benjamin Källman

Norwich City have reportedly set their sights on Finnish forward Benjamin Källman as a potential addition to their striker pool.

Källman has made a significant impact in Bundesliga 2 this season. Playing for Hannover 96, he has scored ten goals in his debut year, ranking third in the league’s scoring charts. The 27-year-old striker signed a three-year contract last summer and has attracted attention from multiple clubs seeking his signature.

Källman is eager to establish his presence in the UK again, following a prior loan to Dundee United. His earlier career with Inter Turku was noteworthy, as he netted 12 goals in 19 matches for Finland’s U19 team.

With 35 international caps and ten goals for Finland, Källman has proven his capabilities on the field.

At 21, Källman’s time at Dundee resulted in a solitary goal from 18 matches. However, he has since matured into a more accomplished striker. Before joining Hannover, he scored 33 goals in 101 league appearances for Cracovia in Poland.

With Källman’s recent performances and Norwich’s potential striker vacancy, both parties might find a mutually beneficial opportunity in the near future.

Injury Update: Mahovo Sidelined With Fresh Injury

Young Norwich left back Lucien Mahovo is unfortunately set for another spell on the sidelines after picking up a training ground injury in the build up to Saturday's win away at Wrexham.

Norwich City's Head Coach Philippe Clement gave the following update in his pre match press conference for tomorrow's game against West Brom

"Lucien got injured, it's a muscle problem. He doesn't need surgery but it will be long term that he's out. It was the last minute of training, he had a shot and felt something," he said.

"He was doing well, he's still a young lad with a lot of potential. He wanted to continue the story because he felt good, we had a good rotation with Ben (Chrisene), both of them growing week by week. I'm convinced he will come back in a good way and we can kick on afterwards. It's not the same injury.

Clement Pleased With Second Half Improvement From Jovon Makama

Jovon Makama stepped up for Norwich City again in Josh Sargent’s absence.  The striker signed from Lincoln in the summer as a relative unlnown to some is starting to look every bit a proper bargain.  However it needed a some tough love from Philippe Clement at half time for him to help sink Wrexham to the first defeat at home in the league since September

Makama now has seven goal contributions in his past nine games, after initially grabbing his chance in the central striker role when Sargent was sidelined with concussion in December.  And since Philippe Clement took charge, no other player in the Championship has scored more goals.

However, Makama who is fast becoming a fans favourite for Norwich City was largely anonymous in the first half at the SToK Racecourse.

“I was not so pleased about the first half, to be honest, and I told him also half-time that I expected more, and he produced in the second half,” said the City boss, who also praised the 21-year-old’s mentality after spurning a gilt-edged chance minutes before his match-winner. “Really pleasing how he steps up, how he becomes better.

"I need to praise also my staff for that, because they're busy with him every game, every training session about small things, small details to make his game better. I speak with all the players every game. It's my job also to get the best out of them, and if something can be better, to speak about it. So don't make it a special thing.

“I think a few months ago, he was totally not in that state of mind, but more and more players start to understand that's crucial in football.

"We spread that message a lot, that it's always about the next action, and the top players are the players who forget really fast what they did wrong, and they believe in their qualities in the next action.”

Transfer Rumour: Nottingham Forest Interested In Norwich's Josh Sargent

Norwich City striker Josh Sargent has  reportedly been added to Nottingham Forest’s shortlist of forwards that they are looking at for this transfer window, according to a report from The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath.

Their fresh interest in Josh Sargent follows news of a bid last weekend from Toronto FC that was understood to be in the region of £13.4m – which led to Philippe Clement dropping the dissapointing news after the home FA up clash with Walsall that the 25-year-old USA international had made himself unavailable for selection for the game.

Despite the actions of Sargent, the Canaries head coach has been insistent in the message that his star striker will not be leaving this month.

It’s no surprise seeing several teams join the queue for the services of Sargent. The Norwich City striker has been a striker difficult to stop at Championship level since the Canaries returned to the second-tier.

With Nottingham Forest joining Toronto in the chase for their star striker, it will mean that NCFC will be in no rush to let Sargent leave with plenty of time in the transfer window still remaining to ensure they receive maximum value possible for their number one asset.
