Transfer Rumour: Arsenal are keen on Norwich City right-back Max Aarons

Arsenal are keen on Norwich City right-back Max Aarons this summer, and they consider him a long-term replacement for Hector Bellerin.

Freddie Paxton reports that Arsenal are keen on signing Norwich right-back Max Aarons this summer. The club have had an interest in Aarons for a few years, and they consider him a replacement for Hector Bellerin – who may well depart this summer.

Arsenal aren’t going to have a free run at Aarons, with Paxton reporting that a number of teams are looking to do a deal this summer, including Tottenham Hotspur. But it’s one the Gunners are in the mix for.

Speaking on the Here We Go podcast earlier this month, Fabrizio Romano reported that Aarons is highly appreciated by Arsenal and is on their list of right-back targets this summer.

Aarons has often been linked with the transfer, with reports last month suggesting Norwich City are open to a departure for a fee of around £30m.

Aarons has made 47 appearances for Norwich City as they achieved promotion back to the Premier League this season. There’s no doubting he was a key part of that campaign.

The 21-year-old played the full 90 minutes of the vast majority of those 47 matches, with the exception of one substitution on against Coventry City in the FA Cup, and the three times he came off in the 89th minute or later.

Transfer Rumour: Norwich City Interested In Sheffield Wednesday Forward Adam Reach

Norwich City are interested in signing Sheffield Wednesday wide man Adam Reach, according to reports from Football Insider.

The versatile left-footer, 28, is out of contract at the Yorkshire giants next month and available on a summer free.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider Norwich are working to reshape their squad as they prepare for the Premier League and have their sights set on Reach.

The attacker will not sign a new contract at Hillsborough after the club suffered relegation to League One.

Reach made 44 Championship appearances for the Owls last season scoring five goals and registering three assists.  One of those assists was against Norwich back in December though Reach’s side ultimately lost 2-1.

His contribution was not enough to keep Wednesday in the second tier as they were relegated on the final day.

Reach joined Sheffield Wednesday from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2016.During his time in the North East, he had loan spells at Darlington, Shrewsbury and Bradford.  He spent his final season at Middlesbrough on loan with Preston before Wednesday signed him that summer.

He went on to make 230 appearances for the club, scoring 24 goals and picking up 34 assists.

Transfer Rumour: Norwich Interested In Celtic Defender Kristoffer Ajer

Norwich City are reportedly interested in a deal to sign Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer according to The Scottish Sun.

The Canaries will be planning for life back in the Premier League, after they clinched promotion from the Championship earlier this month.

Daniel Farke’s side have been the team to beat for much of this year’s campaign, and he’ll be eager to see his side consolidate themselves in the top-flight next season.

Ajer has been with Celtic since 2016, after signing from Norwegian side Start, and has gone on to make 43 appearances in all competitions for the Bhoys this term.

Leicester City are also believed to be keen on a deal to sign Ajer, so the Canaries will know that they face serious competition to land his signature in the summer.

Transfer Rumour: Norwich Plot Move for Bristol City Forward Saikou Janneh

BRISTOL CITY striker Saikou Janneh is on the radar of Premier League new-boys Norwich as a group of clubs consider making a move this summer.

Janneh, 21, has caught the eye of the Canaries as boss Daniel Farke looks to piece together a squad capable of staying in the top flight next season.

But there is also competition from Brighton and fellow promoted side Watford for the Gambian forward who has two years left on his current deal at Ashton Gate.

Bristol City boss Nigel Pearson is desperate to keep hold of the forward, who has climbed out of non-league to show his qualities in the professional game.

He enjoyed a successful loan at Torquay where he scored 16 goals in 28 appearances before a short-term move to Newport County this season was cut short by injury.

But Pearson believes there is much more to come at Ashton Gate for Janneh and has already brought him into his first-team plans.

The 21-year-old is yet to score for his parent club having made two Championship appearances this season.

Hertha Berlin and Bayer Leverkusen have also shown an interest as the German clubs look to scour the Championship for players with potential and a summer fight for his signature could be on.

Transfer Rumour: Norwich Interested In Forest Defender Joe Worrall

Norwich City have outed Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall as a potential summer recruit ahead of their Premier League return.
Worrall, 24, was linked with Norwich City back in the Janaury of 2020. Eastern Daily Press credited Norwich with an interest in the Nottingham Forest man, who’s since been strongly linked with Burnley.

But Forest would receive no bids for the Englishman. Now though, The Sun on Sunday (25.04.21, pg. 59) credit Norwich with a fresh interest in the Forest defender ahead of their return to the top flight.

Norwich City clinched promotion earlier in the month but are still playing for the Championship title.

Daniel Farke is said to have a short shopping list going into the summer months, but a central defender is thought to be on that list.

In the summer ahead of this season, Celtic and Bournemouth were linked with Worrall and at the time, reports handed him a £12million price tag.

There’s been no reports to suggest whether that price has changed after this season, but it’s a good benchmark for the Canaries to work from ahead of a potential bid.

Worrall having featured in all 46 of his side’s Championship games last season has been limited to 29 this time round.

Small injuries have kept him out in patches but he’s started and completed Forest’s last six Championship outings now, and given their end to the season he could be one of a number of players who might look for a summer exit.

Transfer Rumour: Everton & Roma In Race For Norwich Defender Max Aarons

According to Daily Mail writer Simon Jones, Italian side Roma will be coming back in for the young defender as Premier League side Everton dither over the Canaries £30m valuation.

Writing for the Daily Mail’s Mail Online portal, Jones comments that Roma, who had January bid rejected for Aarons, is “expected to return this summer” for him.

Roma had tried to land the talented young Norwich full-back in the January transfer window but a £20m bid was rejected by the Canaries who Jones as are holding out for £30m.

Everton are also seen as interested in the 21-year-old Londoner with 128 games of first-team experience under his belt at Carrow Road. However, Jones confirms that the Toffeemen “are reluctant to pay the £30m price” that the Canaries are said to be wanting to secure Aaron’s services.

Youngster Aarons has proved that he can cut it in the Premier League, shining despite Norwich being relegated as the bottom club in the league. He carried that form through to this season in the Sky Bet Championship where he has scored 2 goals and provided 4 assists across 43 appearances.

Transfer Rumour: Villa Have Eyes On Norwich's Todd Cantwell

Aston Villa are considering a move for Norwich City attacking midfielder Todd Cantwell when the summer transfer window reopens, a report from The Daily Mail has claimed.

Cantwell has scored six goals and provided four assists in 31 league appearances for the Canaries this season, helping them win promotion back to the Premier League from the Championship at the first time of asking.

Now it seems as though that is starting to attract attention from some of those clubs already in the top-flight of English football.

According to this latest report, Aston Villa are considering a move for Cantwell this summer, as a possible replacement for Jack Grealish.

According to this latest report, Aston Villa are considering a move for Cantwell this summer, as a possible replacement for Jack Grealish.

It is thought that the Midlands club are bracing themselves for a bid from Manchester City for Grealish, and know they will need to replace the England international if he moves on.

Villa are said to be considering Cantwell as a potential target to fill that role, and it has been suggested that Norwich could be willing to let the 23-year-old leave for a fee of around £30million.

A graduate of Norwich’s academy, Cantwell made his 100th senior appearance for the club in their 3-1 win at QPR on Saturday afternoon.

As things stand, there is just over a year remaining on Cantwell’s contract with Norwich, securing his future at Carrow Road until the end of next season.
