It looks very likely that Elliot Ward is poised to be signing fo Nottingham Forest on loan for a month initially with the view to a permanent deal in the transfer window, if both parties agree .He was targeted by Forest during August to no avail.
If the deal goes through Ward will be joining up with City player Daniel Ayala, who is expected to be out for 2-3 weeks with a hamstring problem. Also sidelined is on loan Sam Hutchinson who is returning to parent club Chelsea for assessment on a knee injury.
If the deal is confirmed in time Ward could find himself in Sean O’Driscoll squad playing Barnsley on Saturday, he is no stranger to O'Driscoll having spent a time with him at Doncaster prior to signing for City in 2010.
Seemingly having fallen out of favour under Chris Hughton, Ward failed to make the club’s 25-man squad and is ineligible to play in the Premier League until January. It looks unlikely that he will be given the chance to be included in Hughton's squad after the transfer window has closed, with Bassong, Turner, Barnett and Ryan Bennett looking favourites to be in Hughton's plans.
So a move looks to be Ward's best chance of getting games, Forest would be a very good choice to as they are experiencing a revival under ODriscoll's guidence.
